Home Again

We're back from Deutschland where we had a beautiful Christmas with my family--it was hard to leave. I'll have to write more later about my favorite memories from the trip, but there's too much laundry and unpacking and grocery shopping to do before I can get to that. Until then, here are some pictures from my favorite photoshoot while we were there. I took my youngest brother and sister into the vineyards of the German village my family has called home for the last 13 years--holy picturesque! And we also hiked up to the old WW2 bunker in our town where I made many a memory growing up.

Anyway, I'm off to tidy up around here. I hope all of your Christmases were as delicious as ours was! I'm excited to catch up on all of your blogs. While it was hard to leave, there's no place like home.

  2. Holy Smokes! You have such a beautiful family!! I think it would be way too hard to leave your family and Germany behind....you are so tough. I had a hard time leaving Germany when we went and I didn't even grow up there.
You have a natural talent for photography..you are so darn good.

  5. I'm SO glad you're home! It's been so weird for you not to be around for 3 weeks!

I'm IN LOVE with your pictures. And when I saw Lissie in the door to that WW2 bunker I almost fell over laughing. I rubbed my scar and smiled at the memory of her little toddler hands on my leg as your Mom inspected my head and declared that we had to go to the emergency room.

Welcome home, sweet friend. Catch up with me in a few days while live has settled down just a little!

Love the pix as always. What kind of lens are you using in the 5th picture, the really close-up one of you sister with the multi-color scarf and also in the pix of her in the vineyard? I love the composition and affect.
Can't wait to read all about you trip.

  13. wow, I cannot believe your little brother and sister!! they are not little anymore!! I still remember riding in the suburban with them to McCall and convincing them I was a leprachaun. Those seriously are not the same 2 kids! They've changed so much. They're SO cute and your pictures look great! They only way I knew that was your little brother for sure was his different colored eyes :) I bet you had a wonderful time! I can't wait to hear all about it! It must have been sad to leave. I shouldn't take for granted how close my family lives to me.
